1 Financial Update - Nick - IRS, overdue check

2 EWI - Emily - 9 people signed up for EWI
- Need to fill packets for student members and corporate members, assign tables, gift bags, refreshment, name tags
- Someone needs to be in charge to gift bags, name tags
- Need to contact people (preferably outside the board), Ford and Ouyang will be helping out
- Man Ling will post flyers at Siebel, Hardy - Mechanical, McIntyre - Engineering Hall, Ford - Everitt, Janis - DCL, Echeverria - Grainger

3 Revised board position on Merger - Andrew - Board of Governors - changed the conditions of merger: do not need to be in IEEE member, not need to be an IEEE member life-time, instead will give free IEEE member for a year (optional, no longer mandatory); give autonomy to BoG from IEEE
- Signing merger with these conditions; still debate on constitution of HKN, therefore no longer need 3/4s but 1/2s
- IEEE still gives money
- Muehlfeld sees it as legitimate and favorable towards HKN; 9 votes for "yes" from inactive chapters; board is fairly content
4 Corporate - Craig - Two information sessions set
- Mathworks has yet to be confirmed
- Nvidia is set for Oct. 2nd
- Heard from back Chicago Trading Session
- Texas Instruments wants a luncheon, but no details yet, Illini Ballroom Lunch recommended, Sept 22nd recommended
- Lockheed Martin wants to set up another small dinner Sept. 10, invited for all board members
- Motorola heard back, wants to talk to him
- AMD, Boeing, Deloitte, Intel - next time
- No contact from DRW, Apple, John Deere, GE, Honeywell, Google
- Honeywell emailed back over summer

5 Events - Ouyang - Initiate Events proposals: game system tournament, football with Purdue (Manling shall send Xin email about Purdue contact), poker-freshman event, soup kitchen, charity event where professors dress up, broomball tournament, ultimate frisbee tournament

6 Inter-society Cooperation - Nick - SHPE contacted a lot of major organizations, would like to see cooperation amongst the organizations, have large-scale professional and social events
- have initiate committees be in contact with those other organizations
7 President's meeting/Freshman Fushion - Nick - This week Wednesday at 6pm
- Nick Hardy, Janis, Muehlfeld, Xin Chen will attend the event
- Kaplan wants to meet with organizations with something with GRE
8 Alumni et Alumnae Database - Janis - Database somewhere on website, contact John Dietrick about it
- Janis suggests that we have a business card for HKN-overall for advertising to HKN alum, Janis will do that
