HKN Elections

The HKN elections for next semester are approaching! Becoming a member of the board is an excellent way to get leadership experience, and stay involved in HKN. The president and vice president must be former board members, but any member can run for any other position. Yes, even people initiating this semester can run (and are encouraged to do so). ECE Strike

Join the HKN ECE Strike team, or start your own! ECE Strike is a bowling tournament put on annually by ECESAC. Underground Meeting

There will be a meeting this Tuesday in the student lounge in Everitt at 6pm to discuss the progress of the Underground Guide. We will be reviewing article submissions and brainstorming new ideas. All are welcome to attend. Initiates will receive 1 point will for attending.

Power Lunch - Cangellaris

Interested in having lunch with an ECE professor? Thought so. Here is an opportunity!! And who better than Professor Cangellaris? Current professor of ECE 450 and an extremely important figure in the electromagnetic field here at U of I, Professor Cangellaris will be available to talk to you over lunch about his experiences! So come out for this great FREE lunch, and sign up on ETS as well as in the HKN office. Remember, one person must take the sheet over to the ball room from the HKN office! 1 point will be given for this event.

IEEE-HKN Barcrawl

Rendevouz at 9 pm at Legends. The Bar order will continue with Murphys, Firehaus, and finally Brothers. Shirts will be $7-10 and we ask that you sign up in the IEEE/HKN Office, 243 Everitt Lab.

Cavium Networks Info Session

Come hear from Cavium Networks, an industry player in all manner of network solutions. There will be free food, and 1 point will be awarded.

Super Smash Brawl Tournament

Come to the Brawl Tournament and show off your playing skills! There will be a singles and a doubles tournament, and it costs $3 for each tournament, and only $5 total if you sign up for both. There will be great prizes given to the winners, and great fun for everyone! Just bring your controller, and make sure you get there 30 min early for registration and sign ups. There will be a sign up sheet in the HKN office, so make sure you sign up! But remember to get there on time, because only the first 32 singles and 16 doubles teams will be allowed to participate! Two points will be awarded for this event.

Vision Committee

ECE Peer Tutoring

Peer Advising is designed for upperclassmen to help underclassmen with classes and advice about ECE. This is an excellent chance to give back to you fellow students.Learn more at http://sac.ece.uiuc.edu/adv-signup0809.php. 2 points per hour. The tutoring sessions will be held at the following times:

• November 4th, 5-7pm
• November 5th, 10am-2pm
• November 6th, 10am-3pm

TBP-IEEE Etiquette Dinner

Tau Beta Pi will be hosting its annual etiquette dinner with IEEE this year. There will be an instructor who will guide particpants through a full course meal.
