HKN Initiate Events

HKN Broomball Tournament

Come and join us on the ice for our very own broomball tournament! Sign-ups are $30 per team and $8 for free agents. Great Prizes to win! Questions or want to sign up, come over to the HKN Office at 243 Everitt Lab.

HKN charity BBQ

On Tuesday April 21st HKN will be holding a barbecue. It is going to be held right outside of Everitt, next to Engineering Hall from 10am - 2pm.

HKN Scavenger Hunt

Prizes include LabVIEW, Microsoft software, $250 cash, Citgo gas cards, etc. Teams of 4-6 people try to complete as many tasks as possible during the week. Feel free to elaborate on how much FUN it will be.

Dr. Everitt's Neighborhood

After months in production, HKN's free and independent guide to ECE, Dr. Everitt's Neighborhood, will be available at the HKN/IEEE office at 243 Everitt starting Monday, April 6. Pick up a copy and get the inside scoop on picking courses, finding a job, ECE faculty members, and more.

HKN Elections

Interested in being an HKN officer for Fall 2009? Applications are currently being accepted. All members and current initiates are encouraged to consider running for a position as an officer. The descriptions of the officer positions can be found on the HKN website. If you need more information, please contact one of the board members.

WECE Date Auction

Come meet the most attractive ECE singles on the market! Bid on people to donate to charity and you get a win-win situation. A cheap date and a good feeling inside. Even if you're not going to bid come out and see what the auctionees got!

Initiate T-Shirt Design

Are you capable of drawing stick figures? Then you're perfect to design this semester's initiate class t-shirt! All the new initiates will receive one of these shirts so it's in all the initiates' interests to have an awesome one. If there aren't any good designs it might just end up being a tulip with I less than 3 smelly arm pits.

Office Hour Tutoring

We will give you 2 points if you sign up for tutoring during office hours. Send Sujeeth Bharadwaj ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. As long as you can help someone with a homework problem, you're in good shape). There are two reasons you would want to do this: 1) The two points 2) It's boring to just sit there and stare at your facebook account for an hr.

New Meeting Time for Vision Committee

The HKN Vision Committee is an opportunity to help create and support new ideas within HKN. It is a great venue to have your voice heard and it is an opportunity to gain further knowledge of the organization. Meetings will now be held on Wednesdays at 7pm in the HKN Office (243 Everitt). All initiates and members are welcome. Joining the Vision Committee and participating (by attending at least 4 meetings and helping to support new ideas) will earn you 5 initiation points!
