President The president oversees the smooth operation of Eta Kappa Nu as an organization, and serves as the face of HKN to external organizations including companies and the ECE Department. Since the position requires a strong understanding of how Eta Kappa Nu operates, the president (along with the vice-president) must have at least one semester's experience as a member of the board. Current officer: Ryan Rogowski - rrogows2 Vice President In addition to executive board responsibilities, the Vice President manages the semester process of initiation, including tracking initiate progress through the Event Tracking System (ETS), organizing the initiate orientation and initiation banquet, and other initiate-related activities. The Vice President must have 1 semester of experience on the Eta Kappa Nu board. Current officer: Sukhada Palkar - spalkar2 Treasurer The Treasurer monitors and manages the Eta Kappa Nu funds through both our RSO and external accounts, and reliably maintains proper usage of funds. The Treasurer is also responsible for fundraising activities of the chapter, including applying for SORF funding and working with the Director of Operations in keeping the HKN office stocked for food sales; Eta Kappa Nu uses these funds to host many events throughout the year often with zero- or discount- cost to students. This position requires good organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Current officer: Joanna Kwak - kwak4 Recording Secretary The Recording Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of each meeting and the reservation and acquisition of facilities for Eta Kappa Nu events. As the success of Eta Kappa Nu's events is largely dependent upon our ability to make things known, the Recording Secretary is also responsible for publicizing our tutoring sessions, fundraisers, corporate presentations, and other events through various means (fliers, plasma screen, Engineering Update, Current, etc.), and sending out the weekly email newsletter. Current officer: Niranjan Venkatesan - nvenkat2 Corresponding Secretary The Corresponding Secretary is serves as our administrative liaison to the national Eta Kappa Nu office, our contact to other chapters, and our representative on Engineering Council on campus. In addition to this, the Corresponding Secretary keep records of past members and alumni, and compiles a scrap-book each semester detailing our activities and projects. This Annual Chapter Report explains to the national office what we have been up to as well as offers a documentation of our history. Current officer: Puneet Gupta - pgupta20 Director of Operations The Director of Operations is in charge of maintaining the HKN office. This includes running the test files sales and snack food sales, restocking the office, coordinating office hours, maintaining office security, and keeping the office clean. This positions requires a strong sense of responsibility and organization. Current officer: Steven Kallal - skallal2 Director of Student Services The Director of Student Services organizes the tutoring committee and coordinates all review sessions for classes including ECE 110, 210, and 440. The Student Services Chair must be ready to work with the course directors to supply appropriate information to students. This officer is also responsible for ensuring the test files are regularly updated and for coordinating the HKN course review. Current officer: Harihar Nandagopal - hnandag2 Director of Events The Director of Events is responsible for maintaining correspondence with the committee advisors and helping them with the event-planning process, ensuring that they are making progress on a weekly basis. The Director of Events may also be responsible for planning and organizing various small-scale events. This officer works closely with the Vice President in keeping track of members/initiates who are on event-planning committees. Current officer: Kelly Veit - kveit2 Director of External Relations The Director of External Relations maintains contacts and develops relations with companies, and organizes industry events such as technical talks, info sessions, and Evening with Industry (EWI). This officer is also responsible for maintaining the Job Resource Board and encouraging employers and students to utilize this resource, as well as updating the resume database on a semester basis. Current officer: Huiru Xu - huiruxu2 Director of Technology The Director of Technology is responsible for a number of information technology duties, most notably the website, ETS, and the exam/food sales database. Skills needed for this role include a familiarity with HTML, web-scripting languages, database management, and a willingness to learn.
