Eligibility for Initiation Undergraduate students: - Top quarter of junior class or top third of senior class
- Completion of 3 ECE classes
Transfer students: - 1 semester at U of I with two 200/300-level ECE classes
Graduate students: Why Eta Kappa Nu? - Outlet to give back to the community and get more involved in ECE
- Meet your peers in ECE
- Leadership opportunities
Initiation Requirements: Undergraduate Students - Hold office hours for 1 hour/week for the duration of the semester
- Work with other initiates to plan at least one event in the semester
- Complete a 15 point requirement, which is achieved by earning hours through:
- Attending events
- Planning additional events (the first required planning event does not count towards hours)
- Participating in service projects
Initiation Requirements: Graduate Students - Office hours optional (but recommended)
- Complete a 10 point requirement, which is achieved by earning hours through either:
- Completing the undergraduate requirements
- Planning an event. Ideas include:
- Grad student social with ECE-GSA
- Tech Workshop
Initiation Requirements: Everyone - Pay the lifetime membership fee of $85 (cash or check made out to Eta Kappa Nu)
- Attend the Initiate Welcoming Orientation (Saturday, February 9, 2008)
- Attend the officer elections (TBD)
- Attend the Initiation Ceremony and Banquet (Saturday, April 26, 2008)
